Bentley’s Edition 8: A Farewell to the Twin-Turbo V-8 Era

In Bentley’s Edition 8: A Farewell to the Twin-Turbo V-8 Era, the unveiling of the Edition 8 variant for the Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur marks the end of an era.

This special edition, exclusively available in North America, signals the retirement of the beloved twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine in these models, paving the way for Bentley’s new hybrid V-8 powertrain.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Edition 8 boasts bespoke features from Bentley’s renowned customization division, Mulliner. Adorned with blacked-out exterior trim and available in over 60 colors from Mulliner’s Extended Paint catalog, this special edition exudes sophistication and individuality. Riding on 22-inch wheels with self-leveling center caps, the Edition 8 presents a striking presence on the road.

Inside, Bentley’s Comfort Specification seats, embellished with Mulliner’s Palm Fluting pattern, offer unparalleled luxury and comfort. With contrast stitching and the Edition 8 logo adorning the seatbacks, every detail exudes elegance and exclusivity.

While pricing details for the Edition 8 remain undisclosed, it’s anticipated to command a significant premium over standard models. Nevertheless, Bentley enthusiasts can expect deliveries to commence shortly, marking the end of an era for the iconic twin-turbo V-8 engine.

Although the twin-turbo V-8 will continue to power the Bentayga SUV for now, Bentley’s transition to hybrid powertrains reflects the evolving landscape of automotive technology. With over 53,000 V-8 examples sold since its inception in 2012, Bentley’s legacy of performance and luxury continues to captivate enthusiasts worldwide.
