Snapdragon X Elite Beats Apple’s M3 in Multi-Core Test

Snapdragon X Elite Beats Apple’s M3 in Multi-Core Test, Surface Laptop 6 Benchmark Reveals. Excitement mounts as Qualcomm’s flagship computer chip, the Snapdragon X Elite, makes its presence known in the tech sphere. Recent benchmarks on Geekbench hint at its prowess, potentially eclipsing Apple’s M3 chip in certain performance metrics.

The benchmark listing, purportedly for the upcoming Surface Laptop 6 from Microsoft, unveils intriguing details. While the product remains shrouded in mystery under the moniker “OEMBR OEMBR Product Name MFG,” it showcases a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset clocked at an impressive 4.01GHz, boasting 12 cores. Notably, this variant of the Snapdragon X Elite is not the most powerful, with its 4.20GHz boost clock speed counterpart yet to make an appearance.

In the realm of benchmark scores, the alleged Surface Laptop 6 powered by the Snapdragon X Elite exhibits a single-core score of 2,714 points and a multi-core score of 14,078 points. This places it ahead of Apple’s 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro in Geekbench’s multi-core tests, with the latter scoring 3,103 and 12,065 points, respectively.

Analyzing these results, the Snapdragon X Elite appears to offer a competitive edge over Apple’s M3 chip. With a greater number of cores (12 versus 8), Qualcomm’s processor showcases a 15.4 percent lead in performance over the M3 MacBook Pro, according to the benchmarks. Conversely, Apple’s chip purportedly holds a 13.37 percent advantage over the Snapdragon X Elite.

While these benchmarks offer tantalizing insights, it’s essential to approach them with caution until official confirmation is received. Microsoft is yet to announce any concrete plans regarding the launch of new Surface models equipped with Snapdragon laptop chips. However, rumors suggest that Microsoft is confident in the performance of its upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, potentially rivaling Apple’s latest 3nm Apple Silicon processor.

Anticipation builds as the tech community awaits further details. Microsoft is speculated to unveil new Surface laptops powered by Snapdragon chips at its forthcoming hardware event in May, promising an exciting evolution in portable computing. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
